Crypto-criminology describes the dark, devious and dangerous side of human nature. This strain of humanistic proclivity that spans the bounds of civility into brutality. This is a kingdom of “functional criminology”, applicability to the real world, in which individual behaviour defies profiling, forecast and precise definition. For which, contemporary science does not have any useful, efficient and effective method to explain all the possibilities. In one sense, it is the exploration of human evil and its inherent manifestations. And, in another sense, crypto-criminology attempts to delve into the mystery of why folks commit crimes. This is an assessment of criminal behaviour to roam the eerie landscape of individual deviance that foments criminality. The search for modern explanations includes consideration of the effect of “gothic metaphors” in literature, movies and other mass media. Therefore, “crypto” identifies the hidden, the secret and the unrevealed. Such as the term “ancient”, mention is made to the primitive and primeval notions of human nature.

In similarly associated aspects of study, there is the term cryptozoology. This often refers to the investigation of missing or unknown “creature” life forms. From this stage, we can extrapolate that “crypto” suggests the hidden, secret and mysterious nature of living things. By link, there are also the components of knowing, understanding and studying unexplained happenings. This kind of notion aptly concerns the field of criminology. For this day, we have a large number of so called schools of thoughts. All of that fall short of decent explanations. Fact merges with fiction, and modern society flounders from the faulty chase of excitement and manufacture.

As truth becomes entangled with untruth, metaphors assert their presence to stumble at straightforward rationalizations. The more we label, profile and define people the longer we find the difficulty in realizing the commissions of offense. So, the pursuit of the inexplicable nature of people follows the mystifying pathways of baffling occurrences, bizarre events and sordid acts of debauchery. “Crypto” pursues the gruesome thoughts, particularly in terms of primal presence, occasion selectivity and offender causality. Folks make premeditated decisions to commit crimes. The most horrific acts of violence are all planned and completed using a uniqueness of logic and rationality. However, we stand in awe, horror and shock when such things happen. Maybe its cause we view a sense of ourselves at the violence, aggression and aggression. In this sense, crypto-criminology is introduced as a mental mechanism by which to pursue a plan of study in deviant behavior. And, as David Richard Kerr , that behavior that causes injury, injury and death. By query into the strange, perplexing and complex character of criminology, we locate the enchanting connectivity to gothic ideas of fable, legend and allegory. Suffice it to say the secretive, dark and dark mental process of human behaviour remain elusive to several fields of the “pseudo sciences”.
